Sentinel Risk & Wealth
Privacy policy
Updated 22 September 2026
1. Scope and responsible party
This notice describes the handling of website enquiries by the business trading as Sentinel Risk & Wealth ("Sentinel", "we" or "us"). It covers this website, requests for a financial review or quotation, and related initial correspondence. For privacy questions, contact info@sentinelwealth.co.za.
Financial-advice engagements and product applications may require additional privacy notices, statutory disclosures and provider-specific terms. The applicable provider notices apply when you proceed.
2. Information collected
The enquiry form requests your first name, surname, email address, telephone number, preferred contact method, enquiry type, optional message and acknowledgement of this notice. Calculator enquiries also include your assumptions and calculated illustration, source page and submission time. Delivery systems may record submission time, processing status and a reference. Hosting providers may process IP address, browser and security-related request information.
Required fields are marked with an asterisk. Without enough contact information, we cannot respond to your request. You may choose not to submit a form and contact Sentinel directly instead.
Do not provide identity numbers, passwords, payment-card details, bank statements or medical information in the general enquiry form. Do not submit another person’s information unless you are entitled to do so. Children should not use the form to provide personal information without an appropriate parent or guardian.
3. Purpose and lawful processing
The purposes are to respond to your enquiry, assess the relevant service area, arrange a discussion and take steps you request towards a possible engagement. Where appropriate, information may also be used for record-keeping, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and compliance with legal obligations.
The applicable ground for processing depends on the activity: your consent, steps towards a requested engagement, a legal obligation, or a legitimate interest where the law permits it. Information will not be repurposed incompatibly with the reason it was collected without an appropriate legal basis.
4. Who may receive information
Website enquiries are routed to authorised Sentinel personnel for assessment. Calculator enquiries include the selected calculator, its inputs and its results. Technical providers may process data on Sentinel’s behalf for hosting, security and email delivery. Relevant product providers or professional specialists should receive information only when needed for the service you request, subject to appropriate disclosure and safeguards. A legal obligation may require disclosure to an authority.
The website uses Sites hosting on Cloudflare infrastructure; enquiries may be sent to authorised Sentinel personnel in a private Slack channel and delivered by Resend to Sentinel’s mailbox.
5. International processing
Hosting, font and email providers may process information outside South Africa. Transfers are subject to applicable POPIA safeguards.
6. Retention and deletion
The website does not maintain a separate database of enquiry contents. Delivery references may be retained to prevent duplicate messages. Enquiries are held in the receiving mailbox and may enter an approved client-record system. Records are retained for the time required by their purpose and applicable legal duties; request details about the applicable period from Sentinel. Information should be deleted, de-identified or restricted when no longer required, subject to applicable record-keeping obligations and legal holds.
7. Protection and incident response
Website enquiries are validated and access to submitted information should be restricted to authorised personnel. Calculator entries stay in page memory unless you submit them with an enquiry. Sentinel must maintain appropriate access controls, operator arrangements and incident procedures. No internet or email system can be represented as completely secure.
Where an incident gives rise to a notification duty, the responsible party must follow the applicable legal requirements for notifying the Regulator and affected people.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask whether Sentinel holds your information, request access or correction, ask for deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing or withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. Reasonable identity verification may be required to protect your information. Withdrawal does not automatically invalidate earlier lawful processing or override mandatory retention.
For an initial enquiry about this notice, email info@sentinelwealth.co.za and mark the subject "Privacy request".
9. Marketing and automated decisions
The website form does not subscribe you to a newsletter or give consent to unrelated marketing. A later marketing programme would require its own lawful process and appropriate opt-out facilities. This site does not automatically determine insurance eligibility, investment suitability or financial recommendations.
10. External links, fonts and cookies
The Careers link opens Advisorly, which operates under its own notices and application process. The external font stylesheet may reveal ordinary connection metadata, such as your IP address and browser information, to its provider. See the cookie policy for this implementation’s storage behaviour.
11. Complaints and changes
You may raise concerns with Sentinel and may also contact the Information Regulator of South Africa, whose website provides current complaint channels. This notice is updated when collection purposes, providers, technology or legal requirements change.
